Curl Up with Cranford-Masterpiece Classic Saves January!

January! One month I could easily take an eraser to---scraps of wrapping and ribbons and cards finally tucked away til next year, a house to clean and a brain to put back on track...I really just want to curl up and wait til February. Thank goodness PBS has come to my rescue! This Sunday Masterpiece Theatre, aka Masterpiece Classic ,delivers a present for the New Year with a sequel to one of the most beloved series that they have ever aired- Cranford.

Return to Cranford begins in two parts Sunday and we get to visit again and spend time in this enchanting community of quirky, charming, residents who are all facing the inevitable-change. This innocent little village, where tradition holds firm, will be challenged with the building of a railroad and "modern" new ways entering its midst despite every effort to keep the world away. Can this close-knit town hold together to deal with and embrace what lies ahead or will friendships be strained and a community lost as the railroad and new era grow closer???

The glorious cast including Dame Judi Dench as Miss Matty returns with Imelda Staunton, Francesca Annis and Tim Curry .

Missed the original airing of Cranford? Read all about the series that captured my heart and you can catch up and watch the three original episodes online.

...and more good news!!

Masterpiece delivers more gifts with a new adaptation of Jane Austen's adorable Emma on January 24 starring Romola Garai, Johnny Lee Miller and Michael Gambon as Emma's father...

...and the encore presentations of Northanger Abbey on February 14 and my favorite Jane read Persuasion on February 21. A lovely way to Watch the Winter go by-thank you PBS!!!
